Description
Bresdin often used transparent papier calque for his drawings. Drawings on transparent paper by Bresdin include copies of magazine illustrations that the artist used as source material, preparatory studies for engravings, and tracings of original drawings that the artist had sold but nevertheless wished to retain a copy. Executed on a transparent paper, the present drawing most probably recaptures another of the artist’s compositions.
