Francesco Polazzo was a Venetian painter active in the beginning of the eighteenth century. A student of Giovanni Battista Piazzetta, he was very active in his master’s studio and assisted him in a number of projects. Francesco Polazzo specialized in history painting and he painted altarpieces for Venetian churches. He also painted domestic decorations for important patrician families, in particular the Bagnoli. In addition, Francesco Polazzo also worked at Brescia and Bergamo, where he received multiple commissions, such as that for an Annunciation of the Virgin for the church of Santissima Annunciata di Blello.
